Marble Cake
INGREDIENTS
225g Self Raising Flour
225g Unsalted butter – room temperature
225g Sugar
4 Eggs
2 teaspoon Cocoa Powder
1 tablespoon butter – to grease a baking tin
METHOD
1. Mix together butter and sugar till it creamy
2. Add eggs one by one and beat well
3. Sieve the flour
4. Add the flour to the batter and mix well
5. Butter a non stick cake tin
6. Take dollops of the batter and drop into the tin with space, using up half the mixture
7. Next add cocoa powder to the remaining half
8. Add dollops of the batter into the empty space on the cake tin – it will resemble a cream n brown “mess” no pattern so neatness jus dollops of batter all over in the tin – that is the effect we are after!!!
9. Preheat an oven to gas mark 4
10. Bake in the middle shelf till a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean
11. Remove from oven turn onto a wire rack to cool
